GiveAway Day 4 - Vintage style Baby Hat

It's Day 4 of the giveways. I'm so enjoying this. I love reading all your comments.Today's giveaway is a little vintage styly pixie hat. The version being modelled by my daughter in law's niece here, has ties. The version you will receive has a button fastening chin strap as in the photo below.

It will fit a newborn to 3 month old and is knit from silver grey and cream luxury merino silk yarn. It was one of the test knits for the pattern which is available to buy over on Etsy (a test knit which worked, I'm happy to report!!) Looks just as cute on a baby boy as it does a girl!!

As with every other day this week, the giveaway is open internationally to anyone who follows my blog in any way. If you don't do so already, you can follow by clicking on "Join this site" on the righthand sidebar or the Bloglovin button. You can also follow me on Facebook or Twitter - again, buttons on the sidebar.
To enter just leave a comment below saying how you follow and what you think the most important feature of a baby hat is - that it's washable, made of natural fibres, cute, warm.... whatever is most important to you. It's all good fun to read and this info will help me choose the type of styles to design in the future.
(If you've entered the previous giveaways on this blog, you don't need to tell me again how you follow)
If you are a no-reply blogger, make sure you leave an email address so I can contact you if you win.
The winner will be randomly chosen on Sunday 12th and announced the same day on the blog.
This giveaway is part of Sew Mama Sew GiveAway Day (which lasts all week!) so when you've entered mine, why not hop over to Sew Mama Sew and see what else you could win.

  1. That is precious. I like the hats that have the straps or ties so it won't come off when baby turns his head. Thanks for the chance!

  2. Of course I want it to be cute & keep their little head & ears warm, but most impotently it has to be soft, comfy & non-itchy so the little one will actually wear it! ;)

  5. Wow, this hat is gorgeous! This week old be perfect for a boy or girl!

I think the most important part to me is that it's washable! I have yet to make anything that is actually washable! After that I think the next thing that is important to me is that it is made of natural fibers. I am trying to do more of that myself.

  6. ooooh that looks just great! It would have been a great hat for my second (born in January) but I'm sure it will look great on any baby... the most important thing for me was buying/making hats that a baby can't get off by him/herself :-) spent hours and hours trying to get my babies to wear hats without them knowing it, so that they would not try to get it off!

  7. I follow you here, Twitter and Facebook (and Ravelry and Craftsy too sometimes!)

I think the most important part of a baby hat honestly is ease! When momma is trying to get out the door (especially if she has other kids) the best thing is something easy to put on that baby can't just pull off and throw! I love hats with straps and ties for this reason, they take an extra second to put on (or leave tied and slip on) and they look SO CUTE and that way momma doesn't have to worry about finding it in parking lots/stores/cars!

It needs to be warm, natural and easy to get on and off (for mum not baby!!)

  10. It needs to be super soft. When they get a bit bigger i'd say machine washable but for newborn sizes i don't think they get that dirty so just snuggly is my main requirement, my children never tried to take off their hats until they were much older!?!

  11. I follow you on blogger. My favorite baby hats are soft and adorable! But I tend to buy mostly natural fiber items, but only cute hats that are made with natural fibers. Some "organic" hats tend to be not so precious on a tiny tots head, and then really what is the point if it isn't adorable.

  17. SOOOOO CUTE! My baby boy is due in July and this would be perfect! I would have to say the most important feature is that it fits and stays on. My daughter is 13 months old and last year we had a huge problem with hats just slipping off her little head. I have bald babies so hats are key!

  18. That is the sweetest hat and in natural fibres. I have a scarf in merino/silk and it is soooo lovely. My daughter has just had a baby and we are coming into winter - my fingers are crossed. thanks for the offer.

  19. It's beautiful! I think soft comes first with a preference for natural fibers then wash ability.

  25. I follow via email. I think it is most important that the baby hats be comfortable and soft for the baby--which to me means that natural fabrics are the most important part. That said, the sweetness of this hat is killing me. I want it so badly!
